Desk Composition

Operators are selected,
not recruited.

SentinelBuffer operates as a deliberately small infrastructure desk. The desk does not run an open application funnel and does not maintain a public hiring surface.

Section 01  //  Posture

Selection, not recruitment.

SentinelBuffer is operated as a small infrastructure desk. The desk does not pursue headcount expansion as an end in itself. Operators are added when the governance load of an existing or incoming cohort requires additional infrastructure capacity.

The institutional posture is selection, not recruitment. Selection is the instrument of restraint — it is what keeps the desk small, the standards consistent, and the governance discipline preserved across cohorts.

There is no public application funnel and no speculative intake. Open candidate forms, mass outreach, and aggregated hiring channels are doctrinally out of scope for the desk.

Section 02  //  Composition

Desk composition.

The desk operates an engineering function, a review function, and an operational infrastructure function. These are institutional categories — the desk does not publish role inventories, headcount targets, or organisational charts.

Operators sit across categories rather than within narrow position descriptions. The selection criterion is institutional fit with the existing governance posture, not pattern-match against a job specification.

Section 03  //  Expansion

Expansion is cohort-driven.

The desk expands when infrastructure capacity must scale to match the governance load of a cohort. Expansion follows cohort progression; it does not precede it.

Expansion events are deliberate, infrequent, and governed against the same institutional discipline that governs operator entitlement. A vacant capacity slot is not a recruitment trigger — it is a signal that the desk's current operational design has held.

Section 04  //  Introductions

How introductions occur.

When the desk does expand, introductions occur through the existing operator network, institutional referral, or specific outreach initiated by the desk. There is no public application form and no aggregated intake.

Speculative correspondence regarding roles is not reviewed. The desk does not maintain a CV inbox, a waiting list, or a future-cohort registration channel. Restraint at the intake boundary is itself part of the institutional posture.

Section 05  //  Posture

The desk is small by design.

Selection is the instrument of restraint. A small desk holds the governance discipline that a larger one dilutes. The institutional posture is preserved by keeping the desk small enough that the standards do not drift.

SentinelBuffer expects the desk to remain small for the foreseeable horizon. Expansion is not a goal; capacity sufficiency is. The two are not the same.
